Enjoyed your update. Wow!! Dubai??? That is one place my son, Daniel, has on his bucket list. Well, as for us, David, 22, got married last summer to a beautiful girl named Nicole. He is a paramedic in Florence, and is planning on returning to school this fall to start becoming a PA. Very much following in the footsteps of Chuck!! And as he says, "I can't believe it!!" Kevin, 20, is "finding himself", loves playing drums, and is taking online courses at the moment. Daniel leaves next month for U of O to begin his college life. He's working at Starbucks right now and loves being a barrista!!! Five years ago we traveled to China and brought home Emily who was 20 mo old then. She is a beautiful, bright, energetic, and incredibly smart little girl. And 2 years ago we traveled back to China and brought home Kaeli! ( Chuck said Emily needed a sibling!!) So, our hands are full and we are busy! Kaeli is six, but due to malnutrition issues she is developmentally 3-4 yrs. old. She is also hearing impaired and speech delayed. We did not know these things until we brought her home, so we are traveling uncharted waters and continuing to learn the best ways to help her grow!! She is doing beautifully and we love both girls so, so so much. It's kind of amusing when I'm in town and someone says,"Oh, grandma's day out, huh??" I just smile and say, "Nope- mom's day out!" and chuckle at the stares!!! I gave up teaching when Emily came, and have connected and networked with so many other families in Roseburg who have adopted internationally. It's amazing how many there are!! Chuck is doing good. Super busy with his practice. He is planting a tree farm on our property and loves doing that to relax. We moved 5 years ago farther out into the country and he really enjoys his land!!
Wow, can't believe our little boys are all grown up now. Are you living in Bellingham now or Idaho? Sounds like you are quite a computer guru..... I'm impressed!! It would be wonderful to visit again. Sometime enroute to KF please contact us. okay?? Does your family still have the cabin at Lake of the Woods? I'm so glad we have reconnected. You look the same. :)

I'm a sucker for the charity retweet. If you tweet "Please RT: Follow this link to save the whales, the children and the Libertarian Party," I'm all over that. But by golly you'd better have some precocious Libertarian whales on your link, or I will never RT you again!

Hi, well way across the world in the Caribbean, things are much the same - It's ludicrous how many young kids have phones, and not just basic ones, ones that can go online too. Now there's a whole other area of danger!

In St. Lucia, the Prinicipals Assoc just agreed to a nationwide policy of cell phone regulations for schools - same as you describe above but, if not stricter on the kids getting the phones back: Basically they figure they make it clear what the rules are, you break them, you deal with it!

I wonder how on earth we managed without these 'essential' devices in our youth - and we're still alive today - they're not necessary, they are certainly very useful for emergency and times have changed, our kids have dangers to negotiate that we maybe didn't, but heck, we need to put things in perspective.

Thanks for having bought my book in 1997. We've come a long way, in one sense, and not far enough in others.

I liked your list of things to think about.

Mary!
Received your invite to be your friend on facebook. My PC is so lame it won't cooperate with sending a message to you through there. Ugh. Something to look into. Anyway, email me! I think you are 'lost' and we've been trying to track you down for the upcoming 100th Birthday for Alpha Chapter. Mark your calendar for the weekend of the 17th and 18th of April 2009 in Seattle.
Looking forward to catching up. Hope it's okay to contact in this way!
Best,
Karen

Israel wineries...

Don\'t be concerned if you find yourself inhaling deeply from your glass, over and over... it is just your nose\'s way of telling you that it wants more!...

I would recommend starting out with a marathon that is close by to where you live. This will make things much easier since you will not have to have the additional time and expense to worry about. You can just focus on running.
