Tubin in Tutu's

How can you not LOVE this face?
Today is the 5th annual Tubin in Tutus. The Women Who Wine first organized this event as a way to save a local Turkey from certain demise. It was so wildly successful that the next year all efforts went to Pet Rescue and a tradition began.

This year the Women who Wine asked a local craftsman to build 10 bird dog houses and then these bird dog houses were given to 10 local businesses to sponsor each house.  A local artist then took it from there and added their unique perspective and style to the bird dog house.  The final results will be on display at the event and will be auctioned off at the end of the evening.

Seen here is just one of the houses that has dogs and cats woodburned, painted and stained into the house.  The result is spectacular.

There is one house made of local rocks, glass and sea glass and another one that is a beautifully decorated house designed to hold your favorite earings, rings, and necklaces AND it comes with approximately $150 worth of jewelry too.

Also seen in the picture above is one of the swag bags that participants will be taking home with them.  It has a little pocket on the side to hold a bottle of water and is thermal lined to keep your picnic stuff cool during the day.

People dress up in Tutu's Tiaras and boas and spend the afternoon Tubing on Silver Mountain and then go into the Mountain House for an evening of fun, food, games and an amazing auction.

This year the King Estates Winery sent in a Winery Tour, dinner, and overnight stay for four that will be auctioned off.  There is a trip to San Francisco, artwork, tours, services, and all kinds of amazing items being auctioned off during the event.

It is really fun for me, as a volunteer on this event, to see it all come together!  Visit the Women Who Wine on Facebook to read more about it and see some of the very fun pictures.

The other great news is that the weather conditions are perfect for this years event.  Big, gigantic, fluffy, snowflakes are coming down as I write this post.

Time to don my Tiara and head up onto the hill.  Chow for now!

  1. You really make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this topic to be really something which I think I would never understand. It seems too complicated and very broad for me. I am looking forward for your next post. I will try to get the hang of it!

    1. You can do it - just take small steps at first. After the first 1000 posts to your new site it becomes really easy. Send me a message when you have any questions.
