Mamavation Week Two

When I heard I was selected to be part of the Mamavation #iHeartOmron Fitness Challenge I was psyched.  We could even say Stoked!  After quietly slipping into my 50th year of existence with little fanfare I was ready to embrace 2013 and recharge my new life.

Before*
The team at Mamavation have been amazingly supportive and my local cheering squad has been encouraging me along sending text messages and delivering green tea to my desk instead of coffee.  I weighed in last Sunday and was ready for the challenge.

The exercise program Mamavation sent was fantastic.  I could do this at home.  It didn't take a whole lot of time.  I could do this on my schedule and modify the intensity of each exercise as needed.  There were even YouTube videos to follow to make sure I was doing the exercise correctly.

The exercises were very straightforward and easy to follow.  Even though they were easy... Holy Cow... they were effective.

Following the Boston Children's Hospital shopping list they sent I have changed my diet to a low-glycemic diet.

My entire family is now eating cabbage salad and my son has been helping me with meals which included an egg white omelette with spinach that was actually yummy.

Today is the beginning of week two and I am still as enthusiastic but, yeah, my entire body is feeling it.

I am super grateful to the team cheering me on from Mamavation and Omron Fitness because I really really really needed this start to not only my New Year but my new life.  The program they have laid out for us is extremely sustainable and I am looking forward to carrying on even after the challenge is over.

This post is sponsored Omron Fitness as a collaboration with Bookieboo Blogging Network and Mamavation – a community dedicated to weight loss for women and obesity prevention for families.  I was provided with product and compensation for my time and honest opinions.

* Yes - this is a before picture.  This is what I would typically be seen in running to Walmart.  I don't wear pajamas but I do wear yoga pants which might as well be the same thing.  Those who know me know I love wearing my turtlenecks and am typically in layers even in the summer.  So, we'll see what happens in a couple more weeks but for now what you see is what you get.
