Happy Get Over It Day

Apparently, March 9 is Get Over It Day.  It's Official.

To celebrate this most auspicious occasion I am going to log into my Amazon Prime account* and watch the movie Get Over It.  It is, without a doubt, one of my all time favorite movies and favorite performances by Martin Short.  He is not the star of the movie but it is difficult for me to look at any high school drama teacher without seeing a little bit of Dr. Desmond Forrest Oates in them.

The movie also stars Kirsten Dunst and Tom Hanks kid, Colin Hanks.  Mila Kunis, Ed Begley Jr., Swoozey Kurtz, Sisqo, Carmen Electra, EVERYONE in the movie whether their part was major or just a cameo seems to be perfectly cast.  To this day my husband and I still love teasing the kids with our "hipness" by saying "Word".  It is one of those - you had to be there - inside joke - kind of things that just cracks us up.

This movie originally came out in 2001 but it still holds up and is as funny today as it was on its release date.  The names of the characters in the movie even crack me up.  The love interests name is "Alison McAllister" how perfect is that?

I would go on more about it but you will just have to see it for yourself.  I'm off to the couch to Get Over It.

If you are not up for a movie this afternoon you could read more about Get Over It Day from the site Preaching Today which reminds us that

Fortunately, God doesn't just tell suffering people
to "get over it" and neither should we.

Happy Get Over It Day!
