Happy Jackie Robinson Day

The top movie over the weekend was 42 the Jackie Robinson story.  Today is Jackie Robinson Day. April 15 was Opening Day in 1947, Robinson's first season in the Major Leagues. Initiated for the first time on April 15, 2004, Jackie Robinson Day is celebrated each year on this day.

The movie received rave reviews from audiences everywhere and opened in the top spot.  It also received top kudos from my favorite movie reviewer, my mom.  She stayed awake for the entire movies.  There have been a ton of times that I have called her and asked her about a movie that they had just gone to see and she would report back that it was a lovely $8 nap.  But this movie was one that she watched all the way through and enjoyed every moment.

Another fun way to get into the game of baseball is to join in the fun at the ballpark with QRGameplan and following your favorite Qsite! Check out their facebook page HERE

However you plan on celebrating - Happy Jackie Robinson Day!
